At The Shibari Compound, rope is approached deliberately. Every tie begins with communication and an understanding of the people involved. Whether the purpose is education, artistic creation, photography, or personal exploration, the connection between people remains at the center of the work.

My approach to rope is constantly evolving.

I believe technical skill matters, but technique alone does not create meaningful rope. Communication, awareness, adaptability, and understanding the person in the rope are equally important.

I approach each experience individually. Different people have different bodies, goals, limits, experiences, and reasons for being in rope. The tie should reflect the person—not force the person to fit the tie.

Education

Education at The Shibari Compound focuses on foundational skills, communication, risk awareness, practical rope handling, and continued development.

Classes and demonstrations may range from introductory concepts and foundational ties to harness construction, positioning, transitions, and more advanced applications appropriate to the experience level of those involved.

Safety

Rope carries real physical and emotional risks. Responsible practice requires communication, preparation, appropriate progression, anatomical awareness, and the willingness to stop or modify a plan when circumstances change.
